2026年3月16日の人事面談で、現在教授職を務めているiU 情報経営イノベーション専門職大学の任期が、更新されないことが告げられました。そのためあと1年、2027年3月末（2026年度いっぱい）で契約満了後、退任となります。
この節目にあたり、学生の皆さん、研究パートナーの皆さま、そして日頃から発信を読んでくださっている皆さまに、今の率直な思いをお伝えしたいと思います。
大学教員という仕事は、私にとって極めて意義深く、また誇りに思える職業でした。
特に、世代の異なるZ世代の学生たちと日々向き合い、彼らが何を考え、何を見て、どのように発想し、そしてどのように成長していくのかを間近で見続けられたことは、他では得がたい貴重な経験でした。
この7年間は、単なる職務ではなく、自分自身の視野や思考を拡張し続ける時間でもありました。
同時に、この期間はテクノロジーの大きな転換点とも重なっています。
特に近年のAIの進化は、学び方や教え方を大きく変えただけでなく、「何が実現可能か」という前提そのものを書き換えました。その変化を教育の現場でリアルタイムに観察し、試行錯誤できたことにも、大きな意味があったと感じています。
最も大きなインパクトがあったタイミング、転換点は、2025年11月だったと記憶しています。同年4月から学長が「AIを使い倒すことを推奨」と宣言して、学生も積極的にAIを活用してきました。ただ、Gemini 3系の登場とChatGPTやClaudeが呼応するように一段進化したタイミングで、指導する側も学生側も、スイッチが切り替わったことを認識しました。
自分も含め、テクノロジーの進化で景色が変わり、行動変容が起きる瞬間を観測できたこと、それを大学の中で見られたことは、とてもインパクトがある、ワクワクする出来事だった、と記憶しています。
振り返ると、私はこれまで、人生をおおよそ7年単位で区切りながら歩んできました。
個人で仕事を始めた時期、アメリカで過ごした時間、そしてこの大学教員としての期間。それぞれが約7年のサイクルで積み重なっています。そう考えると、今回の任期満了も、ネガティブな区切りではなく、次の7年に向けた自然な移行だと、前向きに捉えることができました。
だからこそ、これからの1年は非常に重要な時間になります。
これまで積み上げてきた教育・研究・実践をしっかりとやり切ると同時に、次のフェーズに向けた準備を着実に進めていきます。そして何より、残された大学教員としての時間を、一つひとつ丁寧に、大切に過ごしていきたいと考えています。
これまで関わってくださったすべて学生、そしての産・官でご支援くださった方々に感謝するとともに、この最後の1年も引き続き、どうぞよろしくお願いいたします。
なお、学長、学部長、その他主力の教員14人が2027年3月で退任となります。一教員には「人員計画」としか知らされておりません。大変心苦しいのですが、詳細について知る立場にないため、今後の大学の方向性や計画、それと連動する人事の方針については、大学の運営元である電子学園にお問い合わせください。
At the personnel interview on March 16, 2026, I was informed that the term of office of the iU Information Management Innovation Professional College, where I am currently serving as a professor, will be one more year, at the end of March 2027 (at the end of fiscal year 2026), and will not be renewed after expiration.
On the occasion of this milestone, I would like to convey my frank feelings to all students, research partners, and everyone who reads the transmission on a daily basis.
The job of a university teacher was a very meaningful and proud profession for me.
In particular, it was a valuable experience that was difficult to face Generation Z students of different generations every day and continue to see what they thought, what they saw, how they thought, and how they grew up close.
The past seven years have been not just a job, but also a time to continue to expand your own horizons and thoughts.
At the same time, this period also coincides with a major turning point in technology. In particular, the evolution of AI in recent years has not only greatly changed the way we learn and teach, but also rewrote the premise of “what is feasible”.
I feel that it was of great significance to be able to observe the change in real time in the field of education and be able to make trial and error.
I remember that the timing and turning point that had the biggest impact was November 2025.
Since April of the same year, the president has declared that “it is recommended to use AI”, and students have actively used AI.
However, at the time when the Gemini 3 series appeared and ChatGPT and Claude evolved to respond, both the instructor and the student side realized that the switch had been switched.
I remember that it was a very impactful and exciting event that I was able to observe the moment when the scenery changed and the behavior change occurred, including myself, and that I was able to see it in the university.
Looking back, I have walked my life in approximately 7 years.
The time I started working as an individual, the time I spent in the United States, and the time I spent as a university teacher. Each is piled up in a cycle of about 7 years.
With that in mind, I was able to positively see the expiration of this term as a natural transition to the next 7 years, not a negative separation.
That’s why the next year will be a very important time.
At the same time, we will steadily prepare for the next phase while doing the education, research, and practice that we have accumulated so far.
And above all, I would like to spend my remaining time as a university teacher carefully and carefully one by one. I would like to thank everyone who has been involved so far, and I look forward to working with you for the last year.
In addition, the president, the dean, and 14 other main teachers will retire in March 2027. In addition, the remaining teachers since the opening of the school are expected to retire at the end of 2028 until the 9th year ahead of the 10-year conversion rule.
